View of Delft - Jan Vermeer

Perhaps not as accomplished as his interior portraits Vermeer nevertheless painted some landscapes this is one of them the view of Delft. Apparently according to some historians Vermeer mixed sand into the paint to get the texture he wanted for the foreground.
