This painting is a mocking look at the vanity some old women display, the women here are obviously old and yet they are dressed in clothes that are mant for girls in their teens. One of the women holds a mirror in front of them into which they peer very much pleased with their looks. The mirror has the words 'Que tal' can this be me written on the back. In the background there is an angel that can be barely seen and he is carrying a broom and is a warning that no matter how the women dress themselves and act this angel will soon be sweeping away all that they are pretending and the reality of life will catch even these two up sooner rather than later.
